An explosion near the Borussia Dortmund team bus left one player injured and led to the postponement of a Champions League quarterfinal match against Monaco on Tuesday in Germany.

Defender Marc Bartra was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries after three explosions rocked the bus in the west German town of Dortmund around 7 p.m. local time (1 p.m. ET). There were reports of windows shattering due to the explosions.

The match was rescheduled for Wednesday night in Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund players and staff were holed up in a secret location on Tuesday night for security reasons.

"(Coach) Thomas (Tuchel) was shocked, one of the explosions happened on his side," CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said in a statement. "The team is in shock. It will not be easy to get those pictures out of your head. We hope the team is somehow capable to be competitive again tomorrow."

Fans were already inside the stadium when the postponement announcement was made.
